Mark Complete may also become Canceled Task, strike-through when cancelled.
Date/Time task creation is of utmost importance, in disregard of any other date, as that indicates time of intention, should be changeable for flexibility.
We reviewed Trello, Clickup, Planner and nTask.
Asana is the best because we can view as list, filtered by Complete, Incomplete, All.
Active, Complete, Cancelled or Extended are primary states, adding a field for other than the currently available check mark would conflict with these states of task.
Date of task is created when task is created which makes that primary, it could be edited, but its main creation is set, like your age.
Above are important in sorting too, so maybe multi sorting options.
More suggestions:
When someone update task description, contributors are not notified.
When a link is pasted in a task’s description, last character is excluded from the link, that is because your android program recognise a forward slash which is a usual end of a URL as a start of a new string, like: https://forum.mikrotik.com/viewtopic.php?t=160848/
Sorry I missed your reply. You are correct, In the overview of portfolios you cannot filter out sections, I was thinking of Dashboard reports.
So with the Dashboard feature, you could theoretically design a set of charts that meet your need for a set of projects filtering out the canceled sections
Asana hasn’t released a native ‘canceled’ feature yet; but if you have a Business account (or above), you will be able to set up a custom rule to automate this process.
You could set up any trigger that sets the rule in motion. Then, by selecting an external action found in iDO Things: “Cancel task…” (multiple versions of canceling).
Asana hasn’t released a native ‘canceled’ feature yet; but there is an equivalent solution, by selecting an external action found in iDO Things: “Cancel task…” (multiple versions of canceling).
Can an “Ignore” option be added to tasks in the software, instead of just “Complete” and “Delete”? After all, “not doing” and “completing” have two different meanings.
Scenario one: For tasks that recur regularly, skipping one for some reason (like an employee’s vacation) feels insincere to mark as “Complete,” and pressing “Delete” would remove the task.
Scenario two: When a manager assigns me a task and I comment “can’t do it,” then click “Complete,” it also feels odd. The manager might misunderstand my intention.
Hi everyone. I’m a new user, but I’ve already come up against this issue. Certain tasks that were created in a brainstorming phase have been reconsidered and I’d like to mark them as Cancelled, instead of “completed” or deleted and lost from record.
Big +1 to this @Claire_Franklin!
Would love to see my recent ask for a Not started project status bundled in with this change—please consider giving it a vote if you agree
Thank you for the suggestion, @Julio_V, but this thread is for a Cancelled task status option. My thread & question was surrounding Cancelled Project Statuses. – It does look like this topic is brought up in the discussion above, but again the redirect to the correct thread to vote for a Cancelled Project Status is broken (ref: Mark a task as "Cancelled" instead of "Complete" - #31 by Bastien_Siebman).
With the newly introduced feature of Custom task types and statuses, one can now accomplish this by creating a custom task type having a status option of “Cancelled”.
