Once I complete a task, I check the check mark. Then, it is removed from the project. Is it possible to keep the task visible (instead of disappearing) and showing completed at the same time?
@nancy_arenas, yes! You can change the view of the project to view āAll tasksā so you can see both incomplete and complete tasks. To do so, click the gear icon in the upper right corner of your project and select āAll Tasksā under View. You can even save the view for everyone!
Is this true in the free version? I donāt see the gear on my screen
Hey Dave!
This is true for the free version of Asana as well! It is possible that instead of a gear, you have two horizontal slider icons. If you click on this icon, you should be able to see the option to change your view from āIncomplete tasksā to either āCompleted tasksā or āAll Tasksā.
Iāve gone ahead and attached what horizontal bars Iām referring to here.
I am not certain is this is an older thread but I donāt see that icon to show completed projects and this is very important to view when billing. Thank you!
Hi @Lois_Reed,
You should be seeing the following on your screen. To clarify, we donāt see an option to view completed projects, instead we have an option to view completed tasks:
If you are not seeing this, could you please share a screenshot of what youāre seeing? Thanks!
Thank You!
I was looking too far up in the right corner.
This is a wonderful app!
Hi! Is there anyway to apply this view not just to one project but globally to all projects? And for the whole team?
Hey @Paul_L! As it stands there isnāt a way to automatically set this view for all project by default. You would have to manually set it for each project and āSave the view for Everyoneā every time (How to use Asana, Asana tutorials, onboarding tips, and team use cases | Product guide ā¢ Asana Product Guide). Let me know if there is anything else I can help with!
FYI, you can set that view and set āSave for everyoneā in any templates you have, and then when you create a new project using that template, itās one less thing you have to change in it.
Ahh, good idea! Thanks both @Marie and @Brian_Titus!
Hi! Confirming that thereās no way to view all tasks completed by day, regardless of whether the due date is before or after date of completion?
It would really be handy if there was a setting that could be turned on that would keep completed tasks in the project view-able, but maybe gray them out so they can still be viewed. I want to complete items but some items have a bunch of content in the conversations that I would still like to view without using the search. As it is right now tasks disappear when completed. Please advise.
Thanks!
Hi @Rick_Todd
You can actually do this right now. If you click the settings cog at the top-right of your tasks you get various viewing options:
Choose āAll Tasksā, and the completed ones remain, greyed out. Donāt forget to also select āSave View for Everyoneā, so that becomes the default view.
Enjoy!
Do I not have the settings cog as Iām in the trial version?
Hey @Maggi_Tipton,
You should definitely have access to it, even in free
Iāve added a screenshot below of where you can find it in a List-View Project. There you can select how to youād like to sort the Tasks in your Project.
Hope this helps!
Hi guys! Just merging this thread with Making Completed Tasks Visible Within the Project to avoid having too many duplicates!
Awesome - thanks. Just getting started but loving Asana! Just getting boss to upgradeā¦ā¦
Cheers
Maggi
I was about to open a misleading thread titled āāSomeā tasks are not added to another projectā.
I think āView All Tasksā rather than āIncomplete Tasksā should be the default. Completed tasks are already easily distinguishable by the leading check image and the alpha of the title text, arenāt they?
When I mark a task as complete, it zooms off my list and goes where? I would like to see themā¦
