Making Completed Tasks Visible Within the Project

Thanks Kristen! This was exactly what I was searching for but could not find, until I read your answer.

What happened to the save for everyone button?

@Christina_Conner, The answer is in this post:

Is there any way to combine the “Marked complete since” filter that is available when only viewing completed tasks with also viewing uncompleted tasks? I would love to be able to filter my projects to show:

  1. all uncompleted tasks
    AND
  2. completed tasks that were marked complete within [timeframe]

This keeps the focus on what’s next while providing some context of what has been completed recently, without cluttering projects that have many completed tasks. Thanks!

Now they hid that option behind a right arrow above the task on the right side of the screen. You have to click the arrow and then click on the View Option. When you focus on the left screen again, that view button inconveniently disappears again. it is a bit of a walk around the park if you ask me.

To anyone like me not seeing that option, now is like a filter.

Is a little confuse because appears like a button that suggest to only show incomplete tasks by default.

Once you click on that option a menu appears with many options to filter tasks by time (completed or not) that’s cool, but the initial button not so much.

It would be nice if you could get your completed tasks to go to their own list available from the toolbar. I want to have easy access to completed tasks so I can remember what I’ve done and check the notes in the description, but having them visible within the project makes the project so messy and complicated, especially since items I’ve completed that I put under categories like “do today” remain there.

(I’m referring mostly to the way items are listed under “my tasks”)

@Jessica_Faulds,

Have you considered “Recently completed tasks” which is found in the left sidebar under Reports?

If you’re on a paid plan, you can save your own advanced search report of completed tasks assigned to you, perhaps within a date range.

Hope one of those helps,

Larry

do you know if you can keep that filter on, all of the time? Or do you have to go in an manually adjust every time? Old Asana, the tasks stayed there , whether done or not. Thanks in advance!

You can click on the three dots on the far top right side of your screen, in the drop down click ‘Save as default’ so that it doesn’t change back to showing only “Incomplete tasks” every time you exit the project.

I need help! There is no “gear” or “slider” icon in my board so I can view my completed tasks.

I can see the task number that has been completed, but I would also like to be able to see the task description for completed tasks. Is this possible/

Update: To everyone who is confused about the gear selection.

Step 1: Look at the top right side of the screen and locate incomplete task
Step 2: Click the incomplete task
Step 3: Click on ALL task

How you can view all of the completed and incomplete tasks!

Click here! Incomplete tasks and it will give you option to view all tasks!

I’m having difficulties with this conversation. I have spent a lot of time trying to find this field to select All Tasks. I am using the free version and I’m not understanding ‘This screen’ when there are so many. Can someone kindly provide explicit steps to find it from the main menu along the left? I am using Google Chromse.

hi I did that and I still can’t see the tasks I checked as done, they still disappeared.

AGREED! I NEED TO SHOW COMPLETED AS VISIBLE SO I CAN EASILY REVIEW WITH CLIENT
