Let Us Sort Projects Manually in Sidebar

This is exactly my issue. Plus, where the heck are the archived projects??

So glad I am not alone on this. If the sidebar doesn’t get fixed to see all projects under each team then my organization is switching to another program.

I generally use between 10 to 16 projects each month, which I have to organize according to the content output. Now it takes me more time to scroll down to view the other projects.

Asana is disappointing me.

Fix it now.

Same
please fix

Why did Asana do this? This is crazy. We have dozens of projects that need to be sorted by project code. Please go back to letting us sort projects manually. And while you’re at it, allow us to sort alphabetically as well. Thank you.

I usually have no problems with updates. The side bar update has thrown me for a horrible loop. I need the option to choose how my side bar looks. It is much more time consuming for me now and I can’t quickly track specific templates in projects and I actually used a date code at the the front of each template that i could quickly track. All gone now. Please bring it back :grimacing:

Hi @Kristen_Crawford_Law, I moved your post to a thread specifically about the sidebar, and one where you can add your vote to have it changed (vote at the top of the thread next to the title).

Thank you.

Just noticing that we ALSO can no longer see all the active projects under “Projects.” The only way you can see them is if you roll over the arrow beside your team name. This makes no sense. You have made things so much harder for us and many others.

Please return the overview of all projects under the ‘‘projects’’ section in the sidebar. They were removed during the last update on MacOS. I use it all the time for a quick overview and selecting projects I’m switching between. Just the (now showing) ten top or most recent projects aren’t helpful to me at all
I understand I can star all my projects to list them again manually under ‘‘starred’’ but why not give us an option for ‘‘All’’ next to ‘‘Top’’ and ‘‘Most recent’’ for the projects section in the sidebar?

This update kills my productivity with Asana profoundly.

Hi @Denny_Blokland , I’ve merged your post into this similar existing thread which you can vote on.

The other problem is that everyone on a team has to remember to star new projects in order for them to appear in their starred list. If you forget, and you’re operating from that starred list, that project will be invisible to you.

These changes are just so incomprehensible. They have totally broken our workflow.

Adding another voice here. This is an unacceptable change. It’s also extremely hostile and non-inclusive to users with cognitive challenges. I use Asana 90% as an ADHD assistive tool, specifically to help me remember and keep track of everything I need to do. Out of sight = out of mind, and now Asana arbitrarily moves important projects out of sight.

I get that you need to evolve/experiment here, but clearly this experiment went
poorly. There are more than enough users here calling this a dealbreaker for many different reasons. This should not be hard to fix.

Just adding another vote for changing the side bar back. It’s confusing to have projects from different teams all mixed into one section
