@Dennis_Sievers , I can’t speak to your questions about Asana’s choices, but I can offer you two different alternative solutions to Portfolios if you’re sticking with Asana. The second one is free, and the first one is a small, one-time consulting fee. (Both require Asana Premium; neither requires Business tier.)
First alternative:
I spent time a few months ago designing a quite powerful and very flexible solution for my clients to handle either OKRs or Goals/KPIs (and initiatives generally), that is quick to implement and maintain weekly or monthly, and works company-wide with roll-ups at the company- and department-levels. Asana2Go now creates projects dashboards with rolled-up information from multiple projects and teams including the latest projects’ Progress Status Updates.
One key use is as a substitute for some of the functionality of Asana Dashboards which will no longer be available in Asana after Portfolios is released, a new feature with a new tier/fee.
But that’s only one example usage. You might need to report across multiple projects for various reasons, and A2G formats are customizable.
