Adding teams to portfolios

Is there a way to add multiple members to a project or portfolio by selecting them from a list or adding an entire team?
There seem to be two options for users to join a team. Either I have to add each member individually with @NAME which is tedious with larger teams.
Or by sending a share link, with which they have to join themselves.
Am I missing something?

Hi @Birke, thanks for reaching out!

As this time, you would need to add users to a project or Portfolio individually. If you would like to add a large number of users, I would suggest sharing the project link.

That said, I’m going to move this post to #productfeedback so folks in the community can upvote it and so our developers can get a better look at the needs of our members

@Birke - I agree. Adding people 1 by 1 in a large company or large team is so extremely tedious. I really hope they develop this feature.

In the meantime, @Bastien_Siebman has created a free tool that helps with this.
Asana Everyone” . It allows you to add task collaborators, project members, or team members in bulk.

@Birke if you have a list of members by email in a spreadsheet (CSV), you can bulk add people to a project/team via their email.

Or you can just bulk import members @Bryan_TeamKickstart :point_up_2:t3:

@Getz_Pro - I’m probably missing something obvious. How does bulk importing tasks help with adding people to an existing team or project?

Ha! Sorry, changed. I was just speaking to someone about tasks and typed that instead of members.

Awesome, and how do I do that?

Yeah, besides that. One of the reasons for using Asana is to get away from all the cluttering sheets and documents.

I think this can be resolved if Asana allowed easy selection of all members within a team. However, as people on projects are stakeholders, I don’t see where a mass import is needed.

Hello, is there an update on this feature request? Thanks!

I’d also like to see this. As a growing company, we’re adding new staff regularly. Adding then to hundreds of projects MANUALLY is the opposite of an efficient use of our time, which is what Asana is designed to do (use our time efficiently).

How do you do this?

g’day - +1 for this feature. We are trying to get the whole org to use Asana but it’s very difficult when it’s up to a few people to make sure everyone can see their relevant work.

I just created a new portfolio, and need to add our entire team to it. Is there a way to add a team to a portfolio instead of inviting via individual e-mails?

Hello @Chantelle_Drury

I have merged your post into an existing feedback request thread. Don‘t forget to vote at the top.

Alsohere is a great feedback request thread that might be interesting for you.

It would be ideal to give the option for a portfolio to live on a team where all members of the team have access to said portfolio. Also, it would be nice to see portfolio member have further restrictions ie - view only, comment only, member, admin

Right now you have to individually assign all of team members to a portfolio when I can add them as a team to all of the projects within the portfolio. It’d be much easier to just assign the team to a portfolio (1) and subsequently all projects in that portfolio would be assigned to that team (2).

Welcome to the forum, @Sophia_Fox ! I’ve merged your post with another popular thread on the topic. Please make sure you use the purple “Vote” button at the top near the title to lend your support.
