Introducing inbox notification in Microsoft Teams

What’s new?

Asana now supports unified notifications for Microsoft Teams. Enterprise users can receive the same notifications in Teams as they do in Asana Inbox and take quick actions like replying to comments or creating follow-up tasks—all without leaving Teams. This update aligns notifications across Microsoft Teams, Slack, email, and Asana Inbox, offering a seamless experience and enabling faster cross-platform experiments.

You can toggle on/off Microsoft Teams notifications in Asana’s setting page.

Asana now supports a range of notification types to keep you informed and engaged. These include:

  • Waiting on tasks (uncompleted)
  • Added as a follower
  • All waiting-on tasks completed
  • Comments
  • @Mentions
  • Overdue task reminders
  • Task assigned
  • Task due date changes
  • Attachments
  • Likes
  • Daily summary
  • Task added to a project

Note: The screenshot below showcases the “daily summary” notification type as an example.

Is this applicable to all Asana subscriptions? I’m not seeing that option in My Settings for some reason (still only the Slack one). Tried in browser and desktop app.

Can you please let me know the progress of the rollout of this feature?
My organization doesn’t see the Teams notifications option yet.

Or is there a setting to toggle somewhere?

@Julio_V , is this indeed only for Enterprise users? I find that very odd.

You will need to go over to Apps in your settings to turn this on

Hey @Richard_Sather

This feature is available to everyone, with a gradual rollout that has already begun and will be completed by March 7th.

Thanks, that makes sense, @Julio_V

It is turned on in my Apps and still doesn’t show in notifications. Do the account admin need to do it?
