Import CSV - all tasks are in the same column

Hi Marie, I have been trying to import projects earlier this year and recently again and am still facing the same problem: the imported tasks all land in the same column, they do not inherit the column assigned in the csv file. Is there still no solution on this?

thanks for a heads.up
Nancy

HI @anon33409932,

In your CSV have you a “Section” column as shown in the " Before you get started: tips to organize the data in your spreadsheet" section of this guide article?

Hi Marie

Sorry for the long pause on this. I have been off for almost 4 weeks and it required some time to catch up with things.

Hope you had a good start into the year!

So, yes, my import sheet includes a column for section, named in German or English, named section or column… results are different each time but never what I desired it to be.

I am attaching the file for your reference and illustrated below the different results.

I’d be very grateful if this could be solved as it will mean a lot for us to finally start using Asana to its potential and gain efficiency.

Best Nancy

Import attempt 1: task 1, task 2, task 3

The import added all tasks to the first column of the sheet and created the “column” as new field

Import attempt 2: task 11, task 21, task 31

The import created a new column for each of the intended ones and allocated the task correctly to the newly created column.

Import attempt 3: task 12, task 22, task 32

The import added all tasks again to the fist column of the sheet and created the “column” as new field

Import attempt 4: task 13, task 23, task 33 with freshly downloaded import csv as per Asana suggestion

The import added all tasks again to the fist column of the sheet and created the “column” as new field

Even though I selected the column value per suggested correction:
