How to Assign Tasks Based on Custom Field Selection and Notify Staff in Asana

I’m creating an Asana project, and in one of the sections, our finance head will approve a request (staff record update). She will also need to assign the next section, which involves updating records, to one of her staff members. We want her to have the option to choose which staff member to assign the task to.

Is it possible to create a custom field that allows the finance head to choose which staff member to assign the next section? For example, similar to the approval field where the approver selects from options like “approved” or “rejected.” The idea is to have a dropdown field where the finance head can select the staff member, and once selected, the task is automatically assigned to that staff member.

After the task is assigned, we’d like the chosen staff member to be automatically notified and added as a collaborator on the task. The selected staff member will then be responsible for marking the project as completed once they finish updating the records.

Would this be possible using Asana’s features? If so, could you provide guidance on how to set this up, including the rules and triggers that I might need to use?

Thank you!

@Arthur_BEGOU this is exactly the use case you showed me two days ago isn’t it?
