How do you set up recurring projects from a template in Asana?

Hi all!

I’m trying to figure out if it’s possible to automatically create recurring projects from a template — for example, setting up a weekly or monthly recurring project based on a predefined template.

I’ve done some digging and it looks like this isn’t natively supported in Asana, unless you’re using a paid third-party tool like Flowsana, Zapier, or Make.

That said, I’m curious:

Has anyone come up with a workaround using Asana’s features?
What tools or integrations do you recommend for this use case?

Would love to hear how others handle recurring project workflows — especially ones that don’t require too much manual setup every time. Thanks in advance!

Using a Rule, you can convert a task to a project when the task is due for example. So theoretically you could create a bunch of tasks, one per week for a year, and then have a rule create a project every week…
