Hide sections

In list view, when sorting by field/custom field the list view can become very ‘cluttered’. The option to hide sections when sorting by other fields would be very handy. This is very relevant when you require a different list view to board view

@Tim_Jasper, While it doesn’t address your request directly, my suggestion below may offer you a workaround until/if the feature becomes available in Asana:

How to complete a section?

One workaround (requires Asana Premium) to the can’t-complete-a-section is: Instead of using actual Sections, use a custom field, perhaps called “Section”. For each new “section” add a dropdown value for the section name. (This can be cumbersome if you frequently create many sections, but if not, you may find this workable.) One time only: Sort (which is actually grouping more than sorting) the project by the “Section” custom field and then Save layout as default. Now, the grouping “Section”…

Thanks @lpb. I currently do this for some projects. Of course the downside is that you don’t get board columns. This is why I think Asana should have linked sections/columns names to custom fields. This would have solved multiple issues. eg field data could be used across multiple projects. Projects could be viewed from multiple perspectives (ie by whatever custom field you choose). One lives in hope! First world problems

Tie custom field to board columns

This is not really solved. @Uri_Kutner was really asking for a general feature of linking sections/board columns to a user selected custom field (or standard field). This would allow users to set standard workflows across multiple projects as they see fit without the need to use multiple unnecessary rules every time a new project is created. In my opinion this is how sections / board columns should have been implemented in the first place. The flexibility and ease of use would have been amazing. …

Filter Projects by 'My Tasks - Today/Recently assigned/upcoming/later '

Could we have a ‘My Tasks’ filter for projects? It would be very handy to review projects by this filter. Projects could then be reviewed very quickly to see what tasks are assigned to me based on recently assigned, today, upcoming or later. It would also allow users to ascertain quickly what is due now. ie overdue or due today.
