Free account features compared to paid

Hi there. New to Asana. I’m using this for work, and it’s just myself that will be using it so I only need the free account especially as I don’t want to have to pay for something for work.

I’ve been setting up some projects etc but as I’m still in the trial period for my account and it’s still on one of the paid plans, I still have access to everything. I’m trying to work out if these fields I’ve added will still be available at the end of the trial or not, because I don’t want to go through and add them to 20+ different projects if I’ll lose them. The AI chatbot couldn’t tell me either way…

Welcome, @Stacey_Armishaw,

Given that you’re intending to return to the free plan, there’s more to it than you’re aware of, I’m afraid.

Asana makes it your responsibility to remove every remnant of any paid feature from every work object (all projects, My Tasks, etc.). If you fail to do so, you will be locked out of accessing those projects at the end of your trial. (I think you may be able to get an extension to finish removing them, but you’ll still have to).

You can search the Forum for others who have been bitten by this, or maybe find more in help.asana.com, but as far as I know, that’s the gist of it.

(A number of us have lobbied Asana unsuccessfully to conduct “trials” differently.)

Thanks,

Larry

Thanks Larry. That’s the general gist I got of it from looking through previous topics. Will avoid setting anything up until after the free trial ends then as I can’t clearly define what’s a paid feature! Thanks for your response.

Thanks; sounds good. But you’ll need to delineate and remove the paid features before your trial ends to avoid lockouts. They include custom fields, some rules, milestones, approval type tasks, custom task types, and many more.

Thanks,

Larry
