Flowsana troubleshooting: Sub-tasks triggering actions on parent tasks

Hello Asana Forum, me again with another Flowsana question. I’m going to preemptively tag the wonderful @Phil_Seeman for his Flowsana wisdom.

I am having issues using the sub-tasks triggering actions on parent tasks rules. Please tell me where I am going wrong!

This is the rule configuration.

What I am trying to achieve: When the sub-task receives a date in the custom Monitoring Date field, I would like that date to be inserted into the Monitoring Date field on the parent task. The Conditions stipulation is because I only want a particular subtask to trigger this rule, the subtask with that custom field selection.

When I tested this on Asana nothing happened. Not sure what I’m doing wrong, please help!

Further questions:

  • When creating a rule with the below selection, does the Check If… (Conditions) check the triggering task or the one that the action applies to?
Trigger this rule on changes to: Subtasks
Apply this rule’s action(s) to: Parent task of the triggering task

Thank you in advanced

Hi @EmilyW!

Since Flowsana is a separate and independent product, we try to keep specific Flowsana support discussions to our own support system and respect the focus of the Asana forum; hope that makes sense. So if you wouldn’t mind sending this query to our support system, we can definitely address it for you. Thanks!
