Filtering Out Projects in Dashboards Breaks When Tasks are Multihomed

I was really excited when I read @Emily_Roman’s update about being able to filter out specific projects from dashboards:

New! Create dashboards and charts across projects and teams

This was going to be very useful to use in the instances where we multihome many tasks within a team to a central project to capture everything (for batch work like tagging, Zapier automations, etc). Unfortunately, whenever we filter out the project that holds everything, it doesn’t render anything in the graph.

It would be great if Asana could figure out a way around this limitation.

We’ve tried removing the project from the team and portfolio level and then excluding it from the dashboard but that doesn’t work. The only solution, currently, is to select specific projects to display instead. That requires more maintenance and can become quite tedious over time.

Looking forward to a better solution here that doesn’t create more time spent working on work.

Hi @Skyler, thanks for flagging this!

I haven’t been able to reproduce this on my end! Could you please provide me with a screencast/screenshots of the chart details you have set up so I can take a further look?

Looking forward to hearing back from you
