Is there any update on when filtering will be available for calendar view? That’s an essential feature to use Asana for most marketing functions like content calendars, social media, campaign planning, etc.
Hi @kbuchanio ![]()
As it stands, Asana doesn’t offer filters on Calendar, but this is definitely something our team will look into for our next calendar update! I’ll be sure to keep you posted here as soon as I have an update on my end; thanks for taking the time to share this feedback with us!
I have used Asana’s Content Calendar template, which is a great way to start and includes some great custom fields (Content Channel, Content Stage), but it would be great to include filtering by channel or stage in the calendar view without having to go to the advanced search feature.
For example, I would like to see just the blog posts due this month in the calendar view, or just the press releases, or just emails. This calendar is run by the comms and marketing team but we would like to share it across the organization. Having the ability to just view channels from the filter drop down or create a custom field that can turn visibility on or off would be extremely helpful when someone may be overwhelmed by the advanced search option or has not been fully trained in Asana but still needs to know when their blog post, email, press release,m etc is going out.
Yes, I just want the custom filter options that are already available in the list view to be in the calendar view. That will allow me to see when all my emails go out, vs social posts, etc.
Has this been developed yet? We would love to have options to filter our Team Calendar. At times we need to look at multiple project calendars to determine deadlines, but are overwhelmed when the Team calendar displays ALL projects in one calendar.
Yes! This feature would be an important next step in getting senior leadership buyin to our editorial calendar
Finger crossed that this will be in development soon. It’ll help with the Creatives in our team.
I would love a filtering feature on the calendar as well!
What brought me to this thread was searching to make sure my team has the best current set up for our communications calendar. We need to have a master calendar that displays ALL our communications, BUT then we also need to drill down those communications by audiences. Right now, we have a “Full Communications Calendar - All Audiences” project that each communication is added to, and then we also add each audience that communication will go out to.
So for example, an email to our Professional Audience and our MBA Students would get added to 3 projects:
Full Communications Calendar - All Audiences
Communications Calendar > Professionals
Communications Calendar > MBA Students
That way, if we wanted to see the communications that were going to ONLY MBA Students, we go to the MBA Students Communications Calendar project and can see it from that project’s view.
Sharing in case this is helpful for anyone else who is coping with no filtering on the calendar view! (And if anyone has any suggestions to the process I currently outlined, I’m all ears!
)
Need filter options for TEAMS CALENDAR!
- To selectively view multiple projects under the team but not all projects under the team.
- To exclude subtasks from teams calendar view, so it is a high-level overview only
Agree we need this!
This is essential! If you are looking to adopt Asana as your main marketing calendar, it gets very unwieldy very quickly if you want to consolidate everything in one board. TO get more adoption, this would be crucial
Im setting up Asana for our marketing team who is operating in 6 different countries with 6 teams. Instead of creating numerus content calendars for each country (lack of overview and will clutter the Asana interface) I want to have one Master content calendar.
In this master Content Calendar i want to be able to se all planed content or filter on countries (we have a custom field for each country).
You can do this in the List and Board view but I cant find it in the Timeline or Calendar view?
Am I missing something here or is there no filter in Timeline and Calendar? If so - is there a work around and is this a upcoming feature?
Good idea, there is an existing thread Filtering on Calendar View
Is this in the roadmap? I’m coming from using Wrike at another company, and they had a great Calendar functionality.
With Wrike, we maintained a master marketing calendar and could easily filter by ‘type’ (e.g. event, content, PR, etc.)
I just started at a new company that uses Asana, and I’d love to see that feature. It made cross-team alignment so much easier because you could see everything all in one place.
Hi @Emily_Roman !
Is this in 2022’s roadmap? we are needing this feature, if not coming soon i’ll invest in an alternative, please let us know!
thanks
Is there any update on this feature being added to the Asana roadmap this year? This is a key feature that is missing. I can say with certainty, that it is preventing the use of adopting asana within more projects in our organization.
+1 - I need this feature to manage our marketing comms calendar without creating multiple projects
- 1, currently using a rule to add tasks to one core calendar and then to all our individual functional calendars so we are able to see a cleaner calendar view for each function. It would be so much easier to just have a filter feature in calendar view instead of managing a bunch a separate proejcts as a workaround.
Same here! This is a vital update needed to make Asana actually usable and helpful for marketing/comms teams. I’m very disappointed to find this still isn’t available.
Hi! I’d like to bump this thread up - is a filter offered on the calendar view at the moment?
