export to *.csv, no content

Hi Sir,

I tried to export a project to a *.csv file, see the figure below

but it seem in the exported *.csv file, only the “description” part of a task had been exported

is this the expected behavior ?

Yes, that’s expected. The Asana help goes into detail, but CSV export doesnt support comments or attachments (which don’t really fit with a flat CSV export concept).

If you’re exporting for the purpose of moving to another Asana environment, consider https://ditto.kothar.net/.

thanks for the reply, is there any way to export the data of Asana(including description and comments(or even attachments)) ?

I would like to get this kind of data, put the data into some LLM(large language model, like Meta LLaMA, Google Gemma…) for training and then I will have my own LLM, is this possible ? Thanks.

You could check at Asana Apps and Integrations • Asana in various categories there for different types of third-party apps that could offer this: Connectors, IT and Development, Reporting.

Also, consider an alternate approach for accessing this data in Asana: using Asana’s MCP Server
