Evolution of Notes: General Ideas & Feedback

UPDATE: Based on feedback, I have split this product feedback post into separate posts. Please take a look and upvote each one individually! Thanks

First: I LOVE this launch! It solves some of the challenges I’ve been having with Messages. So glad to have advanced functionality

  • Note Template: when creating a new Notes tab, there are some templates but they can be easily typed over once the tab is created/notes are started. Would love to have a “Block” of some sort that can insert a custom template for a new meeting/section (similar ticket here)
  • Link to Note Section: (similar to Google Docs functionality) I’d love to be able to link to a specific section of my note. We’ll use a Notes tab as running notes for specific periods of time (quarters, fiscal year, etc. depending on project) and I’d love to be able to right click on the date header, or a specific section of my note to link directly to a specific line.

  • Add Comments/Threads: (similar to Google Docs or Slack Canvases functionality) would be great to be able to highlight a section of a note and tag someone in it or leave a comment. We do this a lot for collaboration in GDocs and Slack, but it would be awesome to be able to do this in Asana Notes.
  • Search Within Note(s): I think this is pretty self-explanatory, but I’d like to be able to search within a SPECIFIC note
  • Notes Section on Sidebar: Ability to add a Notes section on the left sidebar, probably below “inbox”

@Rachel_Hazen - these are all fantastic ideas! In the Product Feedback category, it’s generally better to create one thread for each unique request so that people can vote for specific ideas (or all of them!).

I specifically love your first two suggestions.

Thanks for this recommendation! I just updated my post with the links to the new feedback topics, and I also created an extra one I forgot about when first creating this post.

Thanks for doing that @Rachel_Hazen .
I’ve moved this post into the Tips and Tricks section so people can instead vote for each of your feedback posts.
