Duplication in tasks when rules are triggered

Hi everyone,

I hope I get your inputs/help on this matter. How can we trace specific rules that causes tasks to duplicate. We only want one tasks but it is triggering a duplicate one. Wanted to know any tips and tricks on how we can fix this. Appreciate your help.

  • What helps for sure is giving rules a proper name. I always like to use emoji’s in them, so that you can quickly spot which rule is activating.
  • It also helps to extend the pop-up duration so that you have more time to spot which rule was activated. You can do this from: Profile picture > Settings > Display > Pop-up notification duration
  • Lastly, you can check the task history. Scroll down to the comments ans select the “All activity” tab. This can help determine the sequence of actions, and maybe trace the project the (over)active rule resides.

If your problem is that you need the same rule in multiple projects then maybe Bundles can provide a solution, as bundled rules will only fire once per task, and project bound rules may possible fire per project.

Does this solve your problem?

@Maya_Ybanez Assuming my advice has solved your problem I’ve marked it as the solution.

If it doesn’t then let me know.
