We are having an issue with our Asana hub. Over the past week, staff members have been reporting that due times are randomly being assigned to recurring tasks, that previously did not have a due time assigned.
Is there a solution for the issue raised regarding the randomly assigned due time?

Hi everyone, sorry to hear that you are running into issues with due dates in recurring tasks. We haven’t detected any widespread bug that could be causing this issue. In order to investigate this further, please reach out to our Support team directly sharing some examples of tasks (ID’s) impacted by the problem.
If you are running into authentication issues when accessing our Help Center, please follow the steps below as Larry mentioned in his comment:
Option 1: Access our Help Center in an incognito browser window and start the chat via the button at the bottom right without logging in. This way, you will not run into the authentication issue that is still in the process of being fixed.
Option 2: If incognito mode doesn’t work on your end, please use this temporary form to submit your request to our Support team.
I have also noted this behaviour with some of my recurring tasks which get 03:00am added as a due time, even if the previous recurrence had blank time.
I can’t exactly pin it down to why it’s happening to particular tasks, or what they have in common. I’ll try and capture it, the next time I see one.
With me it sets all recurring tasks to be due at 2:00 am. I am located in Central Europe and we are currently utc +2. I wonder if it’s just setting the due time to 0:00 utc.
The problem is I don’t want to have a due time on my tasks, yet it sets one each time a new task is formed from a completed recurring task.
We have recurring tasks that, once marked complete, all of a sudden get a start time attached to them for the next recurrence. We did not set up the original task with a start time, so I need to figure out why the next occurrence has a start time attached. This is happening for nearly all recurring tasks and the problem started approximately within the last week.
I also cannot get in to Asana support. I keep getting a Salesforce error page. I’ve tried chatting via an incognito window and I also get an error in the chat.
Others have also experienced this. I’ve merged your post into that existing thread; please have a look at the other posts here. But as recommend in one of those, please contact Support but, apologies, they have a temporary procedure described in the following post:
I’ve sent a message to the Asana Support Team using the temporary support form (Contact Asana Support). If I get a response that solves the issue, I’ll post it here.
I received the following update from asana support (via email) on 10/23:
This issue has been categorized as a bug because of a few other similar reports that we have received. Our back end team is currently investigating this and will send an update once ready.
Hi all - I came here as have the same problem - 1am start time going on to most of my recurring tasks when they are completed.
Then I heard from someone at another company who is having the same issue.
I have actually already raised a case with support and they didn’t seem to be aware of any issue - I’m waiting for their reply but shouldn’t there be a log of ongoing issues so that support have knowledge of widespread issues?
I didn’t get the same message that they know it’s a bug.
This appears to be a bug and there hasn’t been an update with a solution as of yet (28/10/2024).
Once someone has found a solution for removing due times from existing recurring tasks in bulk and for preventing due time from being added to recurring tasks after completion, please add your solutions to this reply or add a reply to the thread.
