I’ve been experiencing this bug for a couple months now but waiting to report in the hopes that someone will fix it… but it appears to be getting worse. Tasks that I’ve checked off keep coming back on my “My tasks” list and duplicating themselves for some reason. My entire list is now a graveyard of tasks that I’ve previously checked off that somehow became unchecked and nearly all of them have duplicates. (see screenshot - cut off most of the task to avoid posting any private company info but hopefully you get the idea). it’s becoming untenable - i’m normally addicted to asana, but its made it too hard to use and I may need to switch!
Welcome, @Pavi,
I’ve not seen others reporting this nor experienced it myself.
Is there any chance these are tasks that have a “repeating due date?” Because what you describe is their exact behavior.
You can see if the due date is repeating by looking for this icon beside the due date:
Remove the due date entirely and when you mark the task complete, it will not reproduce, if this was the issue.
Thanks,
Larry
Thank you so much for the reply, Larry!! I appreciate it. I use the repeating due date feature often for repeating tasks, but these tasks were set up with a singular due date. I’m surprised no one else has reported the issue but I’m happy to discuss with anyone on the product team and share my screen and show the issue! Thanks again!
One other thing to check, @Pavi: Maybe a rule is running?
For both the complete task and the new task that appears upon completing that task, open the task detail pane, scroll to the bottom, click the All activity tab (if the Comment tab is selected) then examine the audit trail log stories to see if you can discern anything happening as the one task is getting completed or the other is getting created. If an action is being carried out by a rule you should see info about that here.
Once you’ve ruled that out, try these troubleshooting steps, then please create a support ticket: see How to contact our Support Team.
Thanks,
Larry
