I’ve started getting this annoying feature where each time I complete a recurring tasks, Asana automatically adds a completion time of 1am to the new task that is generated. I remove the time from the task every time, as I just want it set to complete on a certain date, not a specific hour. But the new tasks that generate are always set to 1am and I have to remove this every time. How do I turn this off?
That’s odd… It sounds to me this might be an issue of timezones, although I’m not sure how this can be resolved.
Did it only just start happening?
Yes, it started happening maybe 2 weeks ago. Before that there was no time assigned to recurring tasks - just a date. Which would be my preference. I’m not sure if the upload works but I’ve tried adding a screenshot of how a recurring task automatically appears:
I’m having the same issue. It also started 2 weeks ago. These are tasks that have been repeating regularly for years and suddenly there is a time of 5pm on the due date. Is it a glitch from a new update or a new setting that didn’t exist before that needs to be addressed? I’d love to get rid of it.
It has happened to me too, but I only noticed it today for the first time. Must be a bug.
@Forum-team is this a known bug/issue?
I’ve merged your post into an existing topic. See the earlier posts that describe the temporary procedure to contact Support to report the issue.
Thanks,
Larry
Has anyone had any success with support fixing this for them? The support function is really buggy for me and I’m struggling to get through to an actual person, so only want to keep pursuing it if I’m likely to get a solution.
See here for how to contact support right now:
I filled in the temporary form this morning so hopefully they can resolve it. My colleague has just reported the same issue though, so it seems like a site-wide bug.
@Forum-team I also see this in my work instance. Will contact support.
Since it seems to be affecting more and more people I’m wondering if it this should be moved to Critical Bugs

Hi everyone,
This bug has been investigated, identified, and prioritized for a fix in an upcoming update before the end of the year.
I’m moving this thread to the critical bug section for better visibility and marking this comment as the solution. We’ll keep you updated as more information becomes available.
Apologies for the inconvenience.
Hi Julio! Good to hear you all are already working on this.
We’ve been seeing a similar issue that I thought might be related. Right around Daylight Savings, we saw a bunch of recurring tasks with times suddenly assigned to them, as described in the thread. At the same time, recurring tasks with set time blocks had their start times moved up by an hour (so a task scheduled for 10am-12pm would instead be scheduled for 9am-12pm). Is that bug part of the same issue/will that be part of the fix, or is it something else?

Hi everyone,
Thank you once again to everyone who reported this issue. Our team has implemented some backend changes that should, in principle, resolve the problem.
I’m following up to ensure the issue has been fully resolved for everyone so we can mark it as closed. Could you please confirm if everything is now working as expected on your end?
Seems to be solved for us
It seems to be resolved for us also.
