Need to be able to generate report based on tags (e.g: Show all defects for āRelease Nā - used as a tag; or generate a report that allows team leads to view all requests received against tool A, B, C, & D - where A, B, C & D are tags)ā¦ Looks like a very basic feature - so very surprised that this is missing in 2023! Before this thread - assumed that it was simply a bug and wasnāt working right.
Pls consider this as a must have enhancement to asana in a near release.

Throwing in yet another vote here. We migrated to Asana a few months back and Iāve been getting acclimated and realizing a lot of productivity gains.
But the way I use the app for laying out and tracking my work across teams and projects each week (weāre an agency that uses a āteamā for each client) currently requires me to do some workarounds and superfluous data entry. Long story short, if you were to add the ability to report in dashboards on tags, it would be a game-changer for usability of Asana for me. It would instantly eliminate my workarounds and annoying data entry.

Still waiting for it. We use tags a lot, canāt do the workaround as it would consume a lot of our time to update it.

Hi all,
Agree - this feature would allow to decluster the custom fields and the view from the tasks themselves. Tags are easy to use and we should be able to report based on themā¦

How is this not possible. What is the point of a tag if it canāt flow through to dashboards for reporting.

Why bother voting? The question was asked three years ago and Asanaās only solution thus far is to ask us to pay for another third-party app. Asana is far too expensive for an incomplete product.

Hello, new to the community, testing Asana for a few days now and I am impressed so far. BUT: This feature is a crucial thing, and for me this will have an impact on my descision to subscribe to Asana for personal and in future, also for business purpose. Not being able to add tags to the reporting, is a major backdrop, especially as it seems that the company made no single move to implement this.
But far worse is: If you use a the workaround to add a custom field, you only have the ability to chose from a long dropdown list that is NOT searchable via keyboard. Why on earth is this not possible or an alternative already implemented after years of constant demand for such functionality?
As an advice to the Asana team: the major advantage of tags is their quick accessabilty and the user friendlyness of just pushing a label into the database that can quickly be searched, added, added stored an listet. Adding tags to reporting should be standard feature.

hello - I agree with all the other posters in this thread. What is the point of having tags if you canāt view tasks by tag? This is a frustrating omission.

Any approximate date to add this feature? It will be very helpful to filter tasks based on tags.
