Criteria for Creating a Project vs Task

I am creating guidelines for my team about what warrants the creation of a Project vs a Task.
Currently our team has many Projects that could be tasks, and I am looking to simplify our workspace in Asana and streamline the workflow into less Projects.

Has anyone created guidelines like this that would be helpful to reference? Maybe a list of questions that act as a pathway for Project/Task creation?

Or if there is already a resource like this, could you please link me to the right place? Thanks!
