Creating a report - count of tasks with a certain custom field value

Hi,

We use one project in Asana as our sales funnel. We have a Custom field called Deal stage which has several values.

I would like to create a report how many tasks (so, count of the tasks) was there on the last day of every months in 2024 for every Deal stage value.

The desired result would be a table with:

  • rows: custom field value
  • columns: months in the year
  • values: count of tasks with the custom field value on the specific date (last day of the month).

I do not need count of tasks created on that date, due on that date or completed on that date. But number of all existing tasks on that date.

I tried do speak with AI assistant, but there was no results.

I don’t think that’s possible, reports currently can’t look at “how data was at a given date”… @lpb @Richard_Sather am I missing something?

I see you post this in the AI Studio category. Are you trying to create an AI studio Rule? Or trying to get an answer from the in-product AI chat bot?

You can’t do this natively in Asana unless you were to run an advance search report or view dashboard charts on the last day of each month and store them.

Maybe the Sync to Google Sheets could allow you to do this with a macro and other tabs in GSheets or Excel?

Or perhaps with Business Intelligence tool integrations.

@Dea_Marušić you can do that with the Screenful add-on. You just need to select the Deal stage custom field as the workflow field. After that, Screenful keeps a record of the historical changes to that custom field and you can create a chart (e.g. table) that shows how many tasks were in any of those stages at any point in history.

Sounds like something that would be better done in Pipedrive CRM rather than Asana.
