Clearing completed tasks on Fridays

A member of my team has a project with several sections with tasks regularly being added to them. They want to be able to see what they are accomplishing throughout the week, but then have those completed tasks cleared out at the end of the week.

Is there a way to create a rule that moves completed tasks to a “Complete” section, but only at the end of the week - on Friday afternoons?

I couldn’t find a way to do this using the rules as is, but am wondering if anyone has come up with a creative solution using custom fields or recurring tasks (i.e. a recurring task pops up on Friday afternoons and triggers the rule somehow). Any thoughts?

@Brian_Hansen1 - it’s not possible to trigger rules on specific days/times, but there are some approaches that might help. There’s a filter for tasks completed this week; would that give you what you need? You could save that as a new view on your project if you don’t want to keep setting/clearing it. Alternatively, you could use a saved search with a filter for completion date to find things completed in the last week.

Hi @Brian_Hansen1

“In Asana’s workflow, you can utilize the feature to set task deadlines for specific days, such as Friday. This functionality is particularly useful when scheduling tasks efficiently. Please note that this feature is available exclusively in Flow Asana settings.”
