Is there an ability to send a task attachment through a gmail rule?
Not to my knowledge. You can forward an email with attachments to the project using x+{project_id}@mail.asana.com This will become a new task, and include the attachments.
I’m not sure if/how you can attach to an existing task. The challenge is determining which task to add the attachment to.

I think @Hani_K is talking about going the other way - sending an attachment out via the Gmail rule, not into Asana via the Gmail add-in.
Unfortunately there’s currently no way to include an attachment when using the Gmail rule.
