Bulk adjustment of task/subtask due dates?

Hey Asana friends!

I’m working on rolling out Asana for my team and one of them asked me a question that I wanted to kick out to all of you.

Is there a way to select multiple tasks/subtasks and essentially choose a timeframe by which to roll all of their deadlines? Say you are working on a project, you’ve got about a dozen tasks with a few subtasks each, and then you get word that the project is going to be pushed back a month. In this case, I’d need to go through and update every due date to reflect the new timeline. If you could select all and then choose to roll all due dates by 4 weeks I think it would make the readjustment process a lot faster. Sure, you would probably need to go in and make sure none of the new due dates falls on a weekend or something but I still think it would make the process less clunky.

I know there are some dependencies I could set up but I don’t think it would actually be productive to have literally every task dependent on another? Maybe I am missing something! We only got on the paid level of Asana recently, so I am still learning all the wonderful new tools I have at my disposal! Looking forward to your suggestions!

@Emily_Rens I think you will find your answer in this template thread: Build a template and automatically assign new due dates to projects created from the template
When scheduling tasks in a template, you have options to set relative due dates based on the project’s timeline. Once you confirm everything has been updated correctly in the new project, you can remove the original project.

Hi @Emily_Rens!

If dependencies aren’t set up (and you don’t want to go through the trouble), you can go into timeline view, expand your tasks, and multi-select tasks and subtasks before dragging the task to shift to a new due date.
