Added my vote here.
I would use a board view to have a Quarterly view of projects/items on our roadmap. I’d imagine I would put a custom field for “Quarter” on the projects assigned to the Portfolio and then have a saved view by board, group by quarter.
While one might think the timeline view would work for this sort of things, there are two issue that prevent me from using that feature.
- It is a bit too precise, setting start and end days insinuates a level of precision that is not needed and indeed distracting from Roadmap/Macro Planning purposes.
- You can not “zoom out” to see 3-5 years worth of work in the timeline view. (See this old thread here for support for multi year timeline Timelines! Want to zoom out further to see years - #28)
