Asana's NEWER navigation spotted!

We spotted a new NEW navigation side bar (on Enterprise) recently which got us excited so we thought we’d share what we found, assuming you can see it!

In the previous new navigation side bar, you can switch between Work, Strategy, Workflow and People. In the new NEW navigation side bar, some labels have changed and new options have been added - Work, Agents (previously Workflow), Strategy, Knowledge (new), People.

Here’s the evolution of the navigation side bar to-date. Let me know what you think!

Old navigation

Oldies of Asana will be familiar with the this UI.

New navigation

This version had been undergoing A/B testing and was released to Enterprise/Enterprise+ and is being rolled out to other tiers. Read more in this thread: New Navigation Now Available for Enterprise+

New NEW navigation (discovered Jul 2026)

Can’t seem to find any details of the latest UI change in the help articles so it sounds like Asana is doing more A/B testing!

Agents Tab

No major change other than the label i.e. Workflow to Agents. The minor change is the separation of AI Teammates from Workflow. Very interesting!

Agents > Knowledge > Pages
“Pages” is now the new name for the old “Notes”. Read more about pages here: Asana Help Center

Agents > Knowledge > Meetings
This in particular got us VERY excited and we can’t wait to try it out when it’s released. :star_struck:

I’d love it if we could create subpages, just like in Confluence or Notion.

Where did the starred Forms go?

Hey Jeremy,

Which version of navigation were you referring to for the starred forms?

Looks like a promising direction. Renaming Workflow to Agents makes the AI features clearer, and the new Knowledge section feels like a natural home for Pages and Meetings. I’m especially curious to see how Meetings integrates with tasks and AI summaries once it’s fully released. Thanks for sharing the preview!

I do not like it. I have no need to use it. Everything I need is in the original navigation pane and now I have something in the way. I know I can stretch the other navigation pane, but that shrinks the workspace for my tasks and boards and that space is already at a premium. How do we turn it off or hide it?

another day, another AI sidebar.

It would be great if this was optional, like the original feedback was suggested

I really dislike the new bar and have no desire to use any of those features. Needs to go away.

Kind of with you on that. It’s nice to see automations and templates in a list in one place. Maybe that was there it was just hidden or hard to get to? Overall, I dont see myself using it that much.

I really liked the “Workflow” tab better than “Agents.” My company does not use the AI teammates add-on, so when I think of checking out my automations or custom fields library, “Workflow” makes more sense. Also, having bundles hidden under the “More” layer just adds more clicks to my experience. Is there an option to go back to the Workflow view instead?

Same! I don’t like that there’s not an option to hide this new extra sidbar.

Absolutely this! Some individual contributors won’t really have use for the strategy/workflow/people buttons. Mine is on the “work” setting 100% of the time. It’s taking up more space in my window.

FWIW, it was mentioned by Asana that some customization is expected to be offered (no details yet).

Thanks,

Lately, AI function buttons are appearing as a matter of course even outside of Office 365; the trend toward AI integration is unstoppable.

However, let’s look forward to menu customization options.

I see that my starred forms now live in the work section and not the starred section, which completely defeats the purpose of starring them in the first place. It’s also just confusing

My biggest issue with the new navigation, which I hope can be fixed in the future, is splitting up the ‘starred’. For me, because I have soo much in Asana, I used starred to organize everything that I needed quick access to in one succinct place. Now those items are split up between all 5 modes, which is highly inconvenient and inefficient (and defeats the purpose of bookmarking anything to begin with). If the ‘starred’ could become its own mode altogether, or allow for this to be customized (like maybe a ‘MyMode’ mode?? ), that would solve this.

Thanks for this post! My organization is on the Advanced plan, and it rolled out to us (or at least, to me) earlier this week. I was searching to see if there was new information on it to help guide the rest of my team. To that end, thought I’d ask here: Is A/B testing done at the domain/org-level, or is it always on a user-by-user level? It’s tricky to know how or when to provide support to others on my team without knowing if the rollout has occurred for all of us, some of us, or just me.

I am on Advanced and mine showed up last week!

Overall, I like it.

Pros:

  • It is another layer of logic that helps me remember where things are.
  • Helps keep pages/notes and Knowledge closer to the surface and more easily navigable.

Cons:

  • My forms no longer show up under my starred, so now they are more than one click away.
  • It has taken some getting used to to file Forms as “Agents” in my head.
  • I wish I could collapse each navigation panel individually, if desired.
