I’m getting substandard support from Asana, so posting my issue here. This is the email thread I have with Asana that goes back over a week now without any followup:
What team or department are you evaluating for and how many total team members are you wanting to have on the account?
Myself plus 3-4 guests.
Can you give me an idea of what you are looking to accomplish with Asana? What kind of projects are you looking to manage, and what do your current workflows look like?
Simple task delegation and management.
What has you looking into Asana now, and how soon are you looking to get started? i.e this quarter, next quarter, etc.
Immediately. I just came off some trial plan that seemed to suit my needs. I downgraded to “personal” but can’t tell what’s being gained or lost. What is meant by “seats?” Is the “Starter” plan really a minimum of 5 seats? I am an individual user. Why would I need more than one seat?

Some info on your queries…
There is no single-user plan (many people have asked for it over the years but it’s pretty clear there will not be one), but you can get a Starter plan for 2 users. That’s the minimum; you don’t need to pay for 5.
“Users” and “seats” - same thing.
To see the specific differences between the free Personal plan and the lowest-paid-level Starter plan, go to Asana Pricing | Personal, Starter, Advanced, & Enterprise plans • Asana and click “Compare all features” to open that up. If you can get by with what’s in the Personal plan, do that. Otherwise you’ll need a 2-user Starter plan.
