Asana pricing is unfair and takes advantage of its customers

Asana’s pricing, which makes you pay for 10 users even when you just need to add your sixth, is completely unjustified. There is no product/technical reason for this. Asana can certainly allow a 6 or 7 user account if it wants to. Instead, if I want to add a sixth user, it’s going to double my monthly cost.
The one and only reason to do this is to take advantage of their customers. I am disgusted.
I reached out to customer support, and they basically said “tough luck.” I could make someone a guest user, but then they lack features.
I’m happy to pay you, Asana. Just not happy to pay for seats I don’t use.
This is brand negative. Makes me want to go look at other vendors.

Can I buy 1 seat, 6 seats and not 10, or 21 seats and not 25?

No, Asana seats can only be purchased 5 by 5 from 5 to 30 seats, then 10 by 10 up to 100 seats, then 25 by 25 up to 500 seats then 50 by 50.

2,3 and 4 seat plans are also available for smaller teams.

You can’t get a single seat either, 2 will be the minimum.

@Kenneth_Obel,

FWIW, it seems as though Asana is not unique among vendors to offer step pricing like this:
