I received an email from Asana advising me that a number of my rules were no longer working and required me to fix them.
I logged in and found that the issue was that the Outlook Email add-in within the project rules required re-authorisation. I understand this was because I changed my Outlook password recently.
When I click to re-authorise, it opens a new tab to configure the connection, but then it takes me back to Asana, saying ‘Something went wrong’.
I have tried:
- Removing the Outlook email add-in from the project.
- Deleting the rule and creating a new rule with an Outlook email
- Trying from an Incognito tab in Chrome
- Clearing my cookies and cache
- Trying from Microsoft Edge
- Contacting our IT team, who have advised that the log is showing that the login from Asana was successful
- Logging in to Ticket with Asana, but no reply has been received
There is clearly an integration issue from Asana’s side that needs urgent attention. We rely on these rules to ensure our internal processes are being completed, and Asana support thus far has been abysmal.
What are my options and why hasn’t Asana replied?
Hey @Zac_Muller this sounds like for sure you’re in an OAuth authorization loop. Have you tried removing the connection from either your Outlook settings or at myapps.microsoft.com? And then re-authorizing the integration.
Good morning, my Org is also experiencing this issue. Everything is great on our end. I reported it to Asana as well.
Reply to bump up! Exactly this same issue on our org. Nothing has changed our end and it’s been working fine since setup, but now the ‘send email’ part of our auto-rule set is stating to ‘re-auth’ but it doesn’t process through?
Glad we’re not alone - we are experiencing the same issue as well.
Same problem here. Also trying to bump!
We are having the same issue. I can’t even re authenticate.
Also experiencing this issue in our organization.
Having this problem as well! Based on this thread, seems to be a widespread issue as of this morning…
@Forum-team perhaps you can escalate this?
Hi @neonrain.club , yes I have tired removing multiple times from the Microsoft end as well. As 12 other users have replied with the same issue, it’s clear as day that this is not user error or a Microsoft tenant issue but rather a system failure of Asana’s. It’s urgent and the response from Asana is unacceptable. When will this be resolved? We have businesses to run.
I have also opened an official ticket on this on my side.
Thank you @Stanley_Walter, sadly I don’t think Asana will do anything about it until hundreds of customers are reporting the same thing.
My next step is switching over the automatic emails to Gmail. Not sure what else to do.
Even then, you shouldn’t have to. You’re a paying customer, Asana need to provide the service that you’re paying for.
Looks like something is being worked on, actually didn’t get an error when I tried to authenticate, however still not getting it approved fully in Asana.
It does appear that something is being worked on. Seems that the rules are restoring project by project. Disappointing to still have no response from Asana though.
