Asana assigning tasks to users randomly

Hi All,

We have asana premium in our company and with this tier, the only automated rules we can create are the ones related to moving tasks between sections or changing custom fields. Recently Asana has been assigning some tasks random to certain people. It happened more than once and I can see in the history of the task it says “Asana assigned this to “this person”. For me as the Asana Ambassador in the team I have no clue why is this happening.

The only thing that I have tried is that when a parent task is assigned to me and then some sub tasks are assigned to other members, sometimes asana will assign some of those subtasks to me dependent on the date because I have personal automated rules in my tasks.

However, even that doesn’t make a lot of sense to me as the automated rules in “my tasks” should only affect the tasks assigned to me. Also, has been happening with my boss where random tasks are assigned to her. Can someone help?

That “Asana assigned this” part definitely points towards rules.
Is there any common denominator for the tasks that are being randomly assigned? Are they in a specific project, or are they initially assigned to a specific person? In the first scenario, I’d investigate that project, in the latter - rules in My Tasks.
From the context, I can deduce that it’s not the latter, but are those tasks in any specific project? Or multihomed to a project you have no visibility of?
