I have a lot of recurring tasks and my task list in the project view is starting to get incredibly cluttered because it shows all of the completed recurring tasks. I would like the completed tasks to disappear from view so my work space isn’t so busy looking.
Welcome, @anon71675138,
You can accomplish this just by selecting Incomplete tasks (see below) and then click the overflow (. . .) menu to the right and Save layout as default.

Thanks Larry, I can see this works for project view but what about subtasks?
If your project view is not filtered and not sorted, then you’ll get > expand/collapse icons before each task which lets you see subtasks in the main list pane (you’ve probably also seen subtasks in the right-side Task Detail pane, but I’m not referring to that here). This expanded display of subtasks will respect the setting of showing Incomplete tasks/All tasks, so that may help. Otherwise, in the Task Detail pane, most of us live with inability to filter out completed subtasks there, or add a “Done” Subsection (Tab+D) and drag all completed subtasks there manually.
Hope that helps,
Larry
Thank you that is a good work around. Vincent with Asana Support suggested only having parent tasks as recurring, not subtasks, to avoid the cluttered task detail pane.
