[April Fools] Introducing Asana’s new AI productivity buddy: Product-Eve! 🤖

Hi everyone, I’m bringing exciting news for those who love Asana extra-delight features! :unicorn:

The productivity assistant that brings your projects to life and takes your productivity to astronomical new heights (or depths, depending on how you treat your tasks). In this exciting new feature, your Asana projects get their own virtual pet. This virtual pet depends on your productivity to stay healthy and happy. Neglect it, and it might just throw your entire project into absolute chaos.

:gear: How It Works:

:seedling: Feed your project:

Just like a virtual pet, your projects need attention. Mark tasks as complete, meet deadlines, and keep the workflow flowing to keep your Product-Eve in tip-top shape.

If you fall behind on your tasks, you’ll notice a transformation from the cute, light cloud with a rainbow :rainbow: to an angry, stormy grey cloud :high_voltage: with lightning strikes. It’s your cue to get back on track, or else chaos will ensue!

:police_car_light: What happens if you keep missing deadlines:

Miss a deadline? Forget to update a task? Project is off-track? Brace yourself. Product-Eve is about to lose its cool:

  • Color chaos: Your Product-Eve will start changing colors in your Asana at random—bright neon pink one minute, deep purple the next, and possibly even flashing red with warnings like “YOU DID THIS TO ME.”
  • Task spaghetti: Your tasks will randomly start linking to unrelated tasks, causing your project to become a spaghetti-like mess. You’ll find “Review Budget” under “Organize Team Lunch,” or “Finalize Design” under “Learn to Juggle.”
  • Tasks go rogue: Miss too many deadlines, and Product-Eve might just let your tasks roam free, flying off and hiding in other projects. Your once-organized project could become a digital scavenger hunt as you try to locate where your tasks have gone.

:trophy: The rewards for being productive:

Get back on track, and your Product-Eve will start evolving and rewarding you. Finish tasks, meet deadlines, and your project will flourish.

Your Product-Eve will look happier and cuter, starting to send you helpful notifications like “You’re doing great!” and “Keep going!” accompanied by confetti explosions.

:rainbow: Full Evolution:

If you take your project from “frustrated Product-Eve” to “wise productivity guru,” expect rewards that could actually make a difference. Think faster approvals, more efficient workflows, and maybe even bonus productivity hacks to really take your project to the next level.

:warning::warning::warning: Disclaimer:

This feature is currently in beta testing, and we cannot be held responsible for any stray tasks, existential crises, or digital pet meltdowns caused by Product-Eve’s antics. But don’t worry, if things get out of hand, just reach out to our Support team, and they’ll help you tame your rebellious productivity pet.

Task spaghetti really scared me!

Honestly, I would love this (without the negative repercussions). It sounds very similar to the Finch app in a sense. Being from a generation that raised Neopets, Tamagotchis, etc., I am very onboard if this ever becomes real.

Same, @Sara_Westland! I had a Tamagotchi when I was a kid and used to beg my parents to take care of it while I was at school

I didn’t know about this app. I’ll have to check it out! I’d love to have something similar (and optional) in Asana someday, but with less serious repercussions, of course hahaha. I’ll casually bring this idea up in a future hackathon. Who knows…
