Ability to Pin Tasks

This would be such a useful feature, I’ve been searching for days as to how to do this!!

Yes, please!

(Is there an update on this topic already?)

+1 - we use boards to track course development. I would pin a task to the top with the description and learner outcomes so it’s always visible. Right now, I have to manually make sure it stays there.

Same here, much needed feature. Now it is being done manually every time the task is pushed down by new tasks.

Another vote for this! We use a board to track content development and it’s extremely frustrating that we can’t leave a pinned card at the top of each column with instructions/context for freelancers who may be popping in and out for short periods and won’t always be familiar with have our workflow and need a reminder.

This should be basics. That’s how all blogs started in the first place!

same here!

Yes please add this feature! It would be great to make templates, and have the “standing” tasks pinned at the top of each column, and then have other added tasks automatically go beneath the “pinned” tasks. Thanks!

Please can we add this. Running multiple projects through Asana now and need this on all of them especially for things like overall objectives of the project which need to stay at the top for reference. I think overall there could be better functionality outside of everything just being task based. There are elements of any project that are content led and not necessarily task based.

Hi there, adding my vote to this request. Pinning tasks/tickets to the top of a column/section in a project would be a huge bonus.

I’ve found at least a couple of other threads that are asking for this:

It would be incredibly helpful to be able to pin a set of tasks to the top of a project. I have a list of templates my team uses at the top of a project, but as they add tasks, it pushes them down the list – it would be great they could be batch pinned at the top!

Hello @Sarah_Hough, looks like this request already exist: Ability to Pin Tasks so I’ll just merge your post with this one to avoid having too many duplicates on the community!

Hey Marie,

I was just doing some web searches to see if Pinning to the top is possible and came across this forum post. What is the status of this? Maybe completed? It has been two years since this original request.

Thanks in advance for any updates / information.

Hi, this feature would also be very useful for our team!

If we could pin tasks at the top of a section that would be amazing. We are using it to keep a list of links that may be relevant for any ensuing tasks. A work around for this could be having a details option for the section

Are we able to pin tasks to the top of individual sections?

Adding my voice here. Would really love the ability to pin tasks to the top of a board! We use the title of the top Asana task in a given section to provide instructions to other users in the org, so they can create new tasks with the right information.

For example, we have an internal work queue where all departments can create new operational tasks. However, first-time users of this work queue might not know what details to include or general protocol to follow. A pinned task or a feature equivalent would let us communicate that information in a highly visible way.

+1 for this feature (vote cast)

Plenty of reasons cited for why it would be useful. One more from my side of the fence - I often have status “about this section” type posts I need others to be aware of (like an FAQ in that regard). Things they need to do and why, what should be put in a given section, etc… Having that pinned to top of each section would make administration life easier

I would also like the ability to pin task.

We use some Asana projects as a ticketing system. In each of those projects, we created a task that is an example ticket (with all details about how a ticket should be created), and I would like to pin those example tickets.
