Asana needs a better way of managing archived and deleted goals/portfolio/projects/tasks.
I’d like manage both archived/deleted items (goals/portfolio/projects/tasks/subtasks) in a typical trash bin. For both archive and trash bin, it would be nice to see the original location for each item.
For trash bin:
Especially for the trash bin, we should be able to “empty the trash” instead of needing to open individual deleted item to permanently delete it. This really is not an acceptable workflow.
For archived items:
Archived projects showing up on the left panel under other unarchived projects is not a very clean way of handling this because as the number of projects and teams grow, this list becomes unmanageable. It would better if we can hide/show archived projects on team’s overview page.
Archived projects really should not show up in portfolios as default. It would be nice to have a button to show/hide archived projects in a certain portfolio.
Hi @anon21710283, thanks for providing this feedback!
We do have an existing thread similar to your request for archive projects so you can add your vote here if you wish: Ability to access archived projects from the Team home page
I’ve updated your title slightly to reflect that this thread is now related to a “trash bin” instead I’ll keep you posted if I have any updates on this
Yes, please add the feature to empty the bin with 1-click rather than having to delete items one by one… it’s so much time consuming and… inefficient…
Another vote for this. Having deleted items stay in Asana makes integration with apps like power automate and zapier so much harder as there is so much data to sort through
How is the ability to bulk empty trashed items still not a thing in 2023??
Currently, the only way to see all the deleted tasks is via:
Perform an Advanced search for the deleted items and star that search.
This is very convoluted and if a filter is not selected properly, not all the deleted items will be shown.
great suggestion! I have merged your post into an existing feedback request thread. Votes have been merged as well
