I would like the ability to view “my” deleted tasks regardless of project. Many of my tasks are not in a project. When I use Advanced Search to find them, I get everyone’s tasks, not just mine and it shows all tasks with deleted ones in a lighter color gray. This is frustrating to work though and the filtering capabilities are insufficient.
I don’t want everyone seeing my messy tasks and I don’t want to see theirs when looking for something I deleted. To be honest, I’m just looking for a way to clean up my day-to-day lists and remove things I don’t expect to get to this year so I don’t have to keep looking at them. It’s a waste of time.
However, in the archive sense, I’d feel more comfortable having the ability to archive so I can view history. If I were to choose to restart work, I would rather create a new task anyway and wouldn’t need to reinstate the old one. Just would need a way to access the information and may copy some of it.
Hello @Suzette_Boltz welcome to the forum. When you use Advanced search you can search for deleted tasks and set the assignee to yourself so that it only shows deleted tasks that are yours. You can do the same with completed.
Thank you for sharing @Danielle-GenD. I expect that if I enter my name and select Deleted Tasks, it will show only deleted tasks assigned to me. Instead, it shows all tasks assigned to me with the deleted ones in a lightly color gray font.
I got this from someone in Asana, hope this helps with your situation:
If you ever need to restore any deleted tasks, you can recover it from the Deleted items view.
Premium, Business and Enterprise users can create a Deleted items view by starting an advanced search and following the steps listed below:
- Click into the search bar at the top of your Asana instance.
- Click on Advanced search at the bottom of the list
- Click Add filter, select More.
- Choose Deleted and click Search.
- Click the star icon next to Search results and name your saved search Deleted items or something similar. This search will then be added to your favorites in the sidebar.
Please note that you will need to favorite that search in order for it to appear in your sidebar.
Make sure you change it from default ‘any’ to deleted and it should stop you seeing all of them.
Thanks! I saw that after I posted. Seems like if we’re going to all this length to view deleted items, it should default to Deleted items, not all or any. Just my two cents.
Thanks everyone for your help. I’m now able to view my, and only my, deleted items!
