Working of Premium users & Basic users together.

Hi .

I am trying to evaluate Asana for my office with a team of 10 users. While i will buy 10 user premium , we do work with other freelancers . Kindly guide if freelancers who might use Asana basic can work with my Asana Premium i.e. be assigned task , included in team etc .

Hi @Biz_Account and welcome to the Forum!

Freelancers who don’t share your Company’s email domain, will be considered as Guests. They will have limited access to the Organization and they can only see what is explicitly shared with them.

  • If you share a task with them; they will only see that task. You can also assign a task to a Guest.
  • If you share a project with them; they will see that project and all tasks within that project.
  • If you invite them to a Team; they will see all public projects within that Team, providing they’ve been added as a team member.

You can find more information about Guests in the following article: Working with guests in an organization • Asana Product Guide

Please let me know if you have any follow-up question. Have a great Tuesday! :grinning:

Hi @Natalia,
is it possible that within one company that there are both basic and premium users? We have one team member who is responsible for processes and therefore premium would be nice to work with templates, but the others are happy so far with the basic plan. Would this work or would all have to have premium access in order to use templates?

Hi @anon39961120, thanks for reaching out! As it stands, it’s not possible to have paid and free members in the same Organization. If you only need a specific group of members to have paid features, you can upgrade a single team instead of the entire Organization. You can find more details in this article. I hope this helps!
