Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:
In a project where I assigned a single task to a specific person that is normally not on the project nor team. This Assignee couldn’t mark her task complete until I changed the Project setting to “Editor” for Collaborators. In my opinion, an assignee should have more rights than a collaborator
Steps to reproduce:
Browser version:
Microsoft Edge
Version 115.0.1901.203 (Official build) (64-bit)
What version of Asana are you using (Basic/Premium/Business/Enterprise)
Enterprise
Is this something you can try to reproduce to share screenshots? I’m asking because Project commenters with a task assigned to them should be able to complete the task assigned to them as described in our guide.
I think I found the “bug” the issue resulted from the fact that we just started using Asana and our team members have the “old habit” to enter the projects to work on their tasks. In the project with the setting “Comment” you do not see the “complete task” mark at the left, even if it is assigned to you. You only see it if you enter the task or if you access the task via the “My Task” list.

Hi @Thomas_Roos, thank you so much for troubleshooting this further. I was able to replicate this behavior on my end as well, and I believe is worth escalating the case to our Developers to confirm if this is intended or if it’s a bug. I’ll let you know as soon as I have any updates!
Hi everyone, our Developers have confirmed that a fix for this issue has been pushed. I’ll close the thread, but do let me know if the problem persists after refreshing Asana!
