When a subtask is completed, it adds itself back as a completed task in the project alongside parent tasks

When a subtask of a task within a project is completed, it adds itself marked as done into whatever section the parent task was in. I have a rule set up, so that when a task is completed, it moves into the “done” section, but this doesn’t seem to be happening, as the task is “added” to the board after I have completed the task.

It’s super frustrating, and causes for a lot of clutter on the project board and list views. Please can this be fixed? I have set up rules so that I don’t have to manually be moving tasks into the done section, but subtasks don’t seem to honour these rules.

I’d also just much prefer subtasks to not appear in the main task list, as they are subtasks..

Hi there @Yasmin_Sharp,

Great question! This is because the rule runs in Subtasks too.
To fix this, make sure “Run on Subtasks” is toggled off.

Thank you for this solution! Is there a way to have this default/auto-turned off? Or to blanket apply this to all rules? I don’t want this on any of them.

Hi @Yasmin_Sharp

Currently, there is no option to toggle off “Run on sbtask” by default. I will submit this as VoC, and hopefully it will be implemented. Thank you!
