Updating Dependencies from To Do List

Hello - we have projects that have over 500 tasks will dependencies all linked together :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

It’s easy to update the date on a specific task and have it update dependencies from the project view.

HOWEVER, when someone is in My Tasks and they update the date… it completely disregards all dependencies.

Our team is not full of project managers who get this. Are there any workarounds to fixing dates that people change in My Tasks without having to go into the project?

But it will trigger on all date changes, even those done properly respecting dependencies, but at least you can double-check.

Thanks,

Larry

To prevent dates of tasks within a project from being modified without permission, set up the following:

What do you mean by “do not assign tasks to each member?”

FYI the Auto-Adjust and Dynamic Duration workflows in our Flowsana integration automatically update dependents on a task regardless of where that task’s dates are updated, including in My Tasks.

Use Asana as a project management tool (system), not for team task management.
Progress management of the project should be confirmed and adjusted at project team meetings.
Never assign people to tasks.
