Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:
A workflow I have is to create a task which is to add more tasks, in my case “set weekly tasks”. So in this task I add the weeks tasks. When I have set the tasks and assigned them with me and added dates I close the parent task.
Asana then creates duplicates of the subtasks
Steps to reproduce:
Go to tasks my task create a task assign to me and projects, add subtask, assign to me and add date, then complete the parent task, now I see duplicate subtasks
Browser version:
Edge App Version 86.0.622.68 (Official build) (64-bit)
Yeah… that seems like a bug. I’m not aware of any way to duplicate a task via rules. So if you aren’t manually choosing to do so from the action menu, this seems to be a bug.
I do a similar thing with packaging weekly subtasks within a parent (container) task and haven’t came across any duplicates being created.
Hi @Andrew_Reid, welcome to the Asana Community Forum!
Can you confirm if your “SET WEEKLY AIMS” task is set to repeat? When a recurring task is marked complete, it will duplicate all the information into a new task. All fields (except task comments) are copied over when a recurring task copies itself, including subtasks.
