Trying to Login to Asana on our Google Account - Keep getting this error "getContextualAddOn is not defined (line 29864, file "apps_script")"

Two issues that I’m not sure are related or not:

  1. I’ve had the Asana Add-on for quite a while on our Google account, but when I went to logout so I could sync tasks being created through our email - I got this error. Does anyone know how to fix this?

  2. I’m assuming this is the same issue that prohibits me from seeing the Asana Add-on in Google Sheets? I would like to sync porfolio data.

Any update from the Asana team? My entire team is blocked from using this add-on by this bug.

We just moved our users from Outlook to Gmail and are having the same error message when trying to log in.

Any updates from the Asana team?

The add-on works for any of our users who are logged in and installed it previously but users who have recently tried installing it are also getting this same error message.

Seeing the same error. Our users can install and sign into the extension, but when they try to authorize the Gmail add-on, they get the Apps Script error message and can’t continue.

FYI I moved this to the forum section where initial possible bug reports go, as this sounds like one.

Hello!

I am trying to use the Gmail integration to send the email that is attached to the task as a text field when the task is approved.

The error shows a bad request, and sometimes app script error page.

Does anybody have any insight into why I am running into this error, and why I can’t reliably reproduce it?

Thanks in advance, and please let me know if anyone would like any additional information for any potential solutions!

I have read that this error is common. I have read in other topics in the past. Hasnt been resolved yet?

Hi @Marcos_Fernando_Subi and welcome to the forum,

Others are reporting similar issues; I’ve moved your post to the thread where those other reports are.

Can please @Marcos_Fernando_Subi @Ben_Johnson4 @Shida_Zamani @Kelsey_Madison @Bryce_Blackwell1 and @Nick_Fiame let me know which browser this error is on. I’m assuming it’s on Chrome, but please let me know if the issue is on any other browser.

I’m having the issue in chrome
I’m attaching some evidence

ReferenceError: getContextualAddOn is not defined (line 29864, file “apps_script”)

I’m having the same issue with the same error message on Chrome. I haven’t tried other web browsers. Please let me know once the bug is resolved.

I have the same error when I try to log in with the Asana add-on for Gmail → “ReferenceError: getContextualAddOn is not defined (line 29864, file “apps_script”)”

Is there any workaround that can be used?

There is a global issue with Google services that has started on June 13. Unfortunately there’s no workaround for the problem as of now, we’re still working on fixing it. I’ll keep you posted on the progress Asana has made.

Welcome, @Jann_Eric_Hoff,

You replied to @Stefan_Kirilov’s post which he wrote only four hours ago, and where he promised to keep us updated.

Thanks,
