Task search doesn't work like the quick autocomplete search

Posting it here since if I try to post it under bugs I get I’m not allowed to acces this resource error.

  • Bug Description:

When using the search in asana and hitting enter it doesn’t show the results it shows in the autocomplete search background.

  • Steps to reproduce:

Get a task number from project. For example: 120211#########
Paste it into the search field in the top right corner.
Wait for autocomplete dropdown, see your task appear.

Hit enter so the search field submits
Your task does not appear under tasks search.

This should appear there too IMHO

Hi @Michael_Dibbets, thanks for reaching out! Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce this issue on my end. In order to investigate this further, I recommend you to contact our support team and share the following information:

  • URL of the task that appear in the autocomplete dropdown but doesn’t appear in your search results in list view
  • URL of the empty search results
  • URL of this thread so you don’t need to repeat all the information
