Hi,
I am working to set up a new Asana workflow for our team. Project requests are submitted via a form, which output to a task in a dedicated space. One essential piece of information is the “Due Time” subfield within “Due Date”. We need this information to populate so that we can use the Calendar View to see the date and time when projects need to publish.
However, when I map a form field to Due Date and select both the Date and Time, only the Date populates. I can create a custom Date field, i.e. “Asset Launch Date” and both the Date and the Time will populate. However I cannot use this field to drive the Calendar View (which only works based on the Due Date field). So far I have tried the following solutions, with the below outcomes:
- Direct population from form submission – Time field does not populate.
- A rule to match the Due Date and Time to the “Asset Launch Date” and time – Even though Date and Time both exist in the custom field, only the date ports over.
- A Zapier automation to pull the Date and Time from another field and populate to Due Date and Time – *Even when reformatted to a correct ISO 8601 format, only the Date, not the Time, is populated
My questions are:*
*
-
Is the form output for “Due Date” broken? The functionality to input times clearly exists for custom Date and Time fields, but does not work for the core “Due Date” field.
-
Are there any other automated solutions you can suggest to work around this issue?*
This is an essential function for our team. Given the volume of requests coming from this form, manual time population is not a viable option.
