Tag Field Board View

Hi,

Hi Asana Community,

In a training I saw a board where colored custom fields were visible on the face of each card (no need to open the task). I loved that setup, find the screenshot below

  • I created an aggregator board to monitor the stage of multiple projects at a glance.

  • Tasks on this board are multi-homed from their source projects.

  • The custom field exists in the aggregator project (added from the field library) and is populated on tasks.

  • I’m on Board view and see the new Customize panel (I don’t see a “Card layout” section).

Questions

  1. In the current UI, how do I pin/show a custom field on board cards? Is there a “Show on task cards / Pin to task card” toggle I’m missing?

  2. Does multi-homing prevent fields from rendering on the aggregator board if the field was created in another project?

  3. Is this ability limited by plan? If it’s not supported, what’s the recommended way to identify a task’s source project (or show a custom field) at a glance on board cards?

Scheenshot below is how it looks on my side :frowning:

Hello @Katherine25 - Welcome to our community!

Looking at your example screenshot, it appears that you are using “tags” instead of a custom field. Tags will not show up on the board view preview like you see in the training screenshot. You can find custom fields in your “Customize” menu and then select fields.
