Swimlanes and Kanban boards

I had the same thought. Also can the cards be coloured?

Is it possible to add a default assignee to a Column on a Board. For example I have a review column and the reviewer in this project is always the same person. As the task is moved to the column I would like the assignment done automatically.

Default assignees aren’t possible at this time. However, one workaround I can think of is to create a template task and to copy the assignee when you copy the template. It sounds like that probably isn’t what you’re looking for but it’s worth a shot!

Please add swim lanes!

Yes, +1 for collapsible swim lanes. Extremely useful if you have sequential activity running in parallel in the same project.

Is there any movement on this?
Swimlanes are kinda important for kanban, without them its hard to use asana that way.

Agree that this would be super helpful! Our kanban board for our marketing teams has a lot going on and it would be great to be able to add an extra layer of organization.

I’ve used Asana previously and just got back now. No swimlanes until now?

Any news guys?
How is it possible to have a request for 7 years and haven’t implemented yet?
Unbelivable.
Do you use Asana by youself for project management? Or just as todo list?

It would be great swimlanes support for Kanban boards

+1 please. A board with only columns is like spreadsheets with no rows! Swimlanes would be extremely useful and add to productivity!

I was looking for a way to do swimlanes in the Kanban board as well and ran into this thread.
It’s disheartening to see this ask is from May 2017 and it’s still not possible.
Yet another Asana limitation I’m forced to work around. Very frustrating.

The great example of working with swimlanes (without hard definition od swimlanes) is Matrix expansion for Airtable. You can define dimension for X and Y and it creates grid where you can move tasks horizontally and vertically.

Any news or updates? Are you planning to do it in future? Thanks

Asana doesn’t publish a public roadmap; for future features we just have to wait and see if it gets released at some point.

We are actively working on swimlanes on Board view now! I don’t want to promise any dates, but it is something that we’ve heard loud and clear and are making happen now
