Subtask dates need to show up on the timeline view, how is it that this is not an option? Crazy. I need this!
This is by design (for now). Subtasks don’t belong to the project, so they don’t show up in Timeline, Calendar… in many cases that would greatly clutter the screen. However, we know that a lot of people wish otherwise.

They would not clutter the screen if you could collapse them which would be excellent! I agree that it would clutter up the screen if the showed always. Please I need this!
I had the same discussion with my partner @Julien_RENAUD yesterday and he indeed explained that Instagantt was doing a great job with subtasks on the Timeline. We all wish it would work the same inside Asana!
