Sort Tasks by "Last Comment Date"

@lpb Last Modified" tracks any change to the task, due dates, assignee swaps, tags, status, anything, not specifically comments.

We just want comments

This may not have been the case a few years ago, but I just tested adding a comment to a task and it changes the modified date. That’s documented here and in the API (a comment is one type of “story”):

@Roman_Horbach, I spoke with the eng team that is responsible for this aspect of the our product code. The short answer is that adding a follower creates a story, removing a follower does not. Tracking every follower of a task is an unusual use case (it’s the first time I’ve personally come across it in 7+ years). Hey @lpb - as other people in this thread (and I’m assuming many many more who don’t even take the time to write on the forum) have mentioned, the “last modified date” is not good enough. That feature is an umbrella feature that tracks every single change that happens to the task. We just want to laser into the comments, as that’s (some of the) the highest signal.

I would appreciate it if we could prioritize this. It’s been almost 10 years

I volunteer here and don’t prioritize fixes. I hope Asana will address this request to help those who need this and for whom the workarounds are insufficient.

My post that you replied to originally was addressing Mike’s question about sorting, and my subsequent one was clarifying yours which is ambiguous; neither is negating the OP request.
